Proud parents are celebrating the arrival of Scotland’s first babies of the new year.
One of the earliest arrivals in 2008 was a baby boy at St John’s hospital in Livingston at 12.12am.
Parents Sumraina and Anwar Akram have yet to come up with a name of the youngster, who weighed in at 8lb 7oz.
